The second annual Festival de Pandereta will be on September 6th 6-10PM. The event is co-hosted by Cultura Negrita, Casa Sol, & Breakfast Lunch & Dinner. The Festival is a neighborhood block party on Russ St between Broad and Hungerford Street in Hartford.

The event is a celebration of the neighborhood and its Latinx culture. There will be a live salsa band, Nelson Bello y Los Calientes, as well as modern latin influenced set from DJ collective Cafeteria Radio. The evening will be a community celebration featuring local vendors and fare as well activating Casa Sol's vacant lot. Last year the event brought out hundreds of local residents and the greater community together.

In addition this year there will be a Parranda, a latin tradition of sharing stories through song (similar to caroling), with tambourines (panderetas) and other traditional instruments to create a lively, communal, musical gathering.
