THE COMMONS – THE ARTS COUNCIL LAUNCHES NEW MONTHLY EVENT BLENDING ARTS, CULTURE & COMMUNITY Public Invited to the First in Series of the Commons Feb. 22, 5-9 pm at Bregamos Community Theater
New Haven, Conn (Feburary 5th) – The Arts Council of Greater New Haven is excited to announce The Commons, a new event series in partnership with creative firm Breakfast Lunch & Dinner. The series, free and open to the public, will be a monthly collision of arts, culture, and community at rotating venues throughout Greater New Haven. Each event will bring Greater New Haven’s various creative communities together to create new friendships, bonds and spark future creative collaborations.
“The Commons is a new concept, something we haven’t experienced in the area – a fun happening bringing together the cultural life in New Haven,” said Daniel Fitzmaurice, Executive Director of the Arts Council. “We’re looking at this like an incubator and an opportunity to expand the notion of what and who is a creative. And this series supports our mission to provide leadership and opportunity to connect within the creative sector.”
The first event will take place February 22 at the Bregamos Community Theater, 491 Blatchley Ave., from 5-9 PM. All events in the series will feature various forms of local music, artistic demonstrations, and the chance to share a fantastic evening of drink and food with other members of the New Haven community.
The Commons will happen the last Thursday of the month, February through May:
· Feb. 22
· March 29
· April 26
· May 31
Additional venues and details will be announced as the dates approach.
