About Breakfast Lunch & Dinner 

Breakfast Lunch & Dinner (BL&D) is a community venture-building studio. BL&D manages and is a part of several community projects and ventures, including Cafeteria Media. Cafeteria Media is an emerging digital media and entertainment company owned and operated by creative entrepreneurs in the Greater Hartford Region. 

Position

This position will be central in advancing Breakfast Lunch & Dinner’s mission by coordinating the programming, operations, and volunteer needs to execute the tradition of First Night Hartford 2024 successfully. The contractor will be tasked with coordinating First Night Hartford’s needs for the coming New Year’s Eve celebration. The role takes place on-site at our office, but at times will occur off-site or on-location at events. The ideal candidate is a creative, organized self-starter with a proven ability to execute simultaneous multi-stakeholder projects in a creative, startup environment while reporting to Jeff Devereux, Partner of Breakfast Lunch & Dinner.

Responsibilities

  • Co-creation of event program

  • Coordination of multi-venue partners and programs

  • Coordinate with operations vendors and personnel ahead of and during event

  • Working with BL&D team to coordinate marketing, design, and print needs

  • Coordinate and contract artists, musicians, and creatives to ensure a robust celebration that our community deserves

  • Maintain and keep to event budget alongside BL&D team 

  • Recruit and coordinate volunteer's needs for the day of event

  • Support event operations such as marketing efforts, coordinating partner meetings, button sales and distribution, coordination with city event, DPW, police, and fire officials 

  • Manage day of operations for successful program implementation

  • Communicate effectively with team members to provide check-ins, feedback, and share needs. 

Qualifications

  • Confidence in a leadership position with a high level of responsibility

  • Ability to communicate with, supervise, and empower volunteers to be effective in their roles

  • Ability to work cooperatively with different personalities

  • Assist in recruiting, screening, interviewing, and training new volunteers

  • Provide assistance and consultation for volunteers as needed

  • Ability to plan and coordinate programming for a robust celebration

  • Assist in communication and coordination with artists and performers 

Contract period

Full-time through the end of January 2024. Candidate must work December 30-31st. This role grants an opportunity to stay on long term to support BL&D cultural event programming 

Compensation

$900/per week
