If you haven’t heard about YUPntwk yet, it’s time to pay attention. The new initiative from Connecticut Public (formerly CPBN; i.e. CPTV and WNPR) is set up to help push the boundaries for local, young creatives. The amazing all-female team behind the initiative has been out connecting with creatives for some time and experimenting with how to get things going. Things kicked into high gear this summer as they pushed forward as a digital clubhouse of sorts, launching their membership program in the middle of September at DMTS Radio in New Britain. What they’ve landed on is hard to sum up but if you are young creative, it will be the best membership you sign up for this year.

In their words: the “YUPntwk is a multi-platform creative house dedicated to supporting, amplifying and representing the passions, perspectives and stories of the young, multicultural class.” The members get access to all sort of opportunities, seminars, paid gigs, networking events, and investments just to name a few.

One such big opportunity is just around the corner. YUPntwk is hosting The Push: A Pitch Event to connect with serious creators. Part of YUP’s mission is to build fresh new digital content and find unique gatherings for creatives and the like-minded. The Push is an opportunity to get your concept funded. Submissions are for members only (but that shit is free for now so sort it out) and are due October 15th!

On the day of the PUSH, six finalists—three each category —will compete to win $5,000 + support to make their digital content and community event concept get The Push needed to come to life. The event is free and open to all but NTWK members only will vote live for the winner in each category! So be sure to sign up, show up and show love. It all goes down Sunday, November 4th from 6:00 - 8:30 PM at TheaterWorks.
